Our History
Established in 1971, Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach has over 50 years of service to our community.
1971
First United Methodist Church organized Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach as an outreach ministry for teenage visitors to Myrtle Beach.
1975
First Presbyterian Church and Trinity Episcopal Church joined Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach.
1976
Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach was incorporated.
Services extended to include transients of all ages and locals who needed short-term assistance.
Ocean View Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, and St. Philip Lutheran Church joined Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach shortly after.
1983
St. Andrew Catholic Church became the 7th sponsor of Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach followed by Myrtle Beach Community Church (Beach Church) and Faith Presbyterian Church.
2010s
Sandy Grove Baptist Church and Carolina Forest Community church joined as sponsoring members of Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach.
2021
Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach celebrated 50 years of service to our community.
Our current client base includes transients and locals who need short-term assistance through intervention and referrals; especially those working in seasonal, hourly jobs, and those on fixed incomes, such as the elderly and the disabled.
